We are so glad you’re here! We are a community of homeschoolers seeking an alternative style of education, blending self-directed education with project-based learning and unit studies.

WELCOME TO WONDER HOMESCHOOL COMMUNITY!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Inspired by a variety of educational philosophies including self-directed education, project-based learning, and multi-disciplinary unit studies, we will help our students explore and understand topics of interest to them, in our unique classroom environment. Students will be able to suggest and vote on topics of interest to explore as a group, in addition to having time to investigate individual interests and create their own projects.

We want all learning styles to thrive! Our self-directed program will meet each learner where they are, at their own pace. Guides will work with each child to support their curiosity and learning.

WHAT DO YOU WONDER?

Our classroom feels more like a home than a school. The environment has been thoughtfully designed to support learning and exploration. With access to books, games, art supplies, and so much more, kids can utilize many different resources to explore their interests.

Our Wonder Wall is the place where students can share their questions and wonderings. In a mixed age group, kids can learn from each other and learn together. The guides will help facilitate learning without formal instruction in a low-tech, literature based format.

Our focus is on helping kids learn how to learn! Being located so close to the Plymouth District Library, we will be utilizing their books and resources to help students find answers to their questions, and go deeper on topics of interest.

A TYPICAL DAY AT WONDER

Every day will be different! We’ll start with our morning meeting, where kids will brainstorm together and democratically decide what they want to learn and do that day. We may have a provocation set up that catches their interest, or we may plan a walk to the library to use their computers for research or check out their books on a new topic they want to explore. We might take time to work on individual projects, do experiments, read, create art, or play games. We value time outside - lunchtime will be outside as often as possible, weather permitting. We will take projects or breaks outside when we can!

OUR LOCATION

Conveniently located at PARC - Plymouth Arts and Recreation Complex, we are located in the same building as many other arts and recreational programs that you may already enjoy! As we understand our students’ interests, we may be able to partner and collaborate with others in the building.
